Hi ladies, this week we are going to revisit a couple of old favourites, the easel card and the twisted easel card.
The photo is of the double twist but we will be starting with the normal easel as we have a couple of fairly new card makers with us. This is a great card to fancy up or just leave simple, it is also a great one for Christmas cards if you haven't got them all finished yet.
As normal I will bring the basic card stock but if you would like to bring something to decorate the card with please do.
thanks,
Cath

This weeks class
Hi ladies, just to let you know I am a bit late getting the sample card done this week (not sure where this week has gone) so I am going to show you the card from the Split coast stampers site where I got the instruction. It is called a centre step card. I should have the card done for Monday.
I also have some photos from the kids class to show you. As there was only 6 there this week I gave them the same challenge as I gave you and this is what they came up with.
And talking of chalenges don't forget the new Make my Monday site goes live this week, I will bring my card to show you all.
thanks,
Cath

This weeks class
This weeks card is a step card with a iris fold in the front. It can be a bit fiddly but it is worth it.
I have done it in white but it can be done in any colour you like. As normal I will bring everything you need with me, but if you would like to do it in any other colour bring the papers with you.
For those of you who have managed to download and install Dropbox you will be able to see all the instruction in there. Also those of you who would like help with a blog can you be thinking of a name for it so I don't put you on the spot, you will also need a gmail account.
See you Monday
I will also bring the card I have done for the Monday challenge blog I told you about.
thanks,
Cath

New Challenge Blog
Just to let all you ladies know that I have just added a new challenge blog to the list on the right. It has been set up by Jacqueline from deezines art, a blog I follow all the time. All you will have to do is follow the design, choose your own colours and stamps and away you go, then post a photo of your card on to your blog. But I don't have a blog I can hear most of you crying, so WHY NOT? most of you are good enough to put your work out there for others to see and comment on. How will you know how good you are getting if you do not have a record of where you have come from.
Jacqueline has just started to design her own stamps but also uses a lot of Stamping Up and other brands on her cards, if you have a look back at some of the older posts I think you will recognise some of the stamps. She is also the person who gave us the Easel card box design we did in the new year.
I hope you will all at least go and have a look at this new site and have a go at the first card she has there even if you don't go for the design team.
I will be bringing my computer with me on Monday so if any of you would like me to help them set up there own blog I will show you how.
This weeks card will be here in a day or so.
thanks,
Cath

This weeks card and an apology.
I am so sorry but this week we will not be doing Iris folding as planned as I lost the book and have only just (today) found it again. The card we will be doing is a side step card. I was planning on doing the handbag iris fold that goes with this card so this will be a practice run for next week when I will have all the copying done and everything ready.....
Here is a photo of this card when we did it at Christmas.
Hope this is ok with everyone.
thanks,
Cath

This weeks sample
I am giving blogger another go as so many of you tell me you miss it.
This week we will be visiting an old favourite, the easel card but this one has a twist.......
and its a double as well.
As with all easel cards it looks a lot harder than it is, but it is only a square of 8x8in card folded and one half cut at 4in. The hardest part is getting the topper lined up straight.
So for this week bring any card you would like for the toppers. but do remember I have some from the UK you can use if you are stuck. I made my sample black and white but this looks good in any colour.
Any questions give me a shout.
See you Monday.

New stamp samples
I don't have a sample of this weeks card as Jack is doing it, so I thought I would show you what I have made using the new stamps we got from Stamping Up.
I made three cards in about an hour just using the stamps and some odd bits I had around.
This first one I stamped and embossed the owl stamp three times then cut them out and mounted them with foam pads onto the card. I had added a strip of green card cut with the big shot and stamped the sentiment which I had also embossed.
The second one is also embossed in the centre and on the tag at the edge. The background is just the middle stamp stamped around the edge.
This one is just plain stamping. I cut a mask circle out of a post it note and stuck to the card, then stamped all around it with the flower stamp, I them went around the edge with the same stamp. The centre is just stamped and cut out with the same circle punch. I could of cut this with the scallop die but I don't have them at the moment.
Hope you like the stamps as much as I do, and a BIG thanks to Jackie for getting and sending them to us.

This weeks sample
Sorry about last week, but I had a ear infection and could hardly stand up at times. But I am all well again this week and here is your sample for this class.
I know a few of you have done this one before, but I don't have a lot of patterned papers so I am using what I have got. And we also have some new starters that have never done Iris folding before and this is a nice easy one that looks good. The pattern at the bottom is our new punch that came this week, I am still waiting for the rest of the parcels but I am sure they will be here by next week. If you have any colours you would like to do this in do please bring them.
See you Monday.
Thanks,
Cath

This weeks class
Ok ladies this week we are doing the card holder that Jackie brought with her a few weeks ago. You will need to bring enough matching paper for 4 cards if you want to keep them all the same. Other than that I will bring the card, paper, stamps etc. At this point I would normally show you a photo of the one I have done.....but the nice black cat that you all love decided to come in and get warm after getting caught in the rain, yes you've got it he thought sitting on top of the folder would be the best place to get dry! It would not of been too bad except I had coloured in the front with watercolour pencils that have now run. So you can see it on Monday but it is in no state to be shown on here.
But I do have a photo for you from Ann in the UK. You remember the frame I did the other day to show that you could use stamping anywhere? well Ann copied the design and made a great card .
I think she has done extremely well as she hasn't seen the original in real life.
See you soon.
thanks,
Cath

Stamping this week
Just a quick reminder that this week we will be stamping. So please bring any stamps, ink pads or any thing to do with stamping and we try and sort out any problems you might have. Just leave you with something I did this week with a new stamp I got in UK.
Just shows stamping doesn't have to just be for card making.
thanks,
Cath

This weeks class
This week we are doing these very nice boxes from Arty Farty Designs Ltd. Do go and have a look at there web site as they have some great designs.
So for these you will need something to decorate the box's with, you can make these for any occasion and I know a couple of you have got weddings coming up. If you have any of the yellow card we used before Christmas that would do to make them with, or any patterned heavy weight papers will do. As normal you will be getting all the templates to use and I will bring a selection of paper/card for you to use.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Cath
